Born in Spain. Graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Granada in 2001, specializing in painting. During his studies, he attended workshops with Rogelio López Cuenca and was also a student in Armando Pareja´s studio. In 2001, his work was selected in Descubrimientos PHE Spain competition. A year later, in 2002, his photographic work won the Alonso Cano contest at the University of Granada. In 2003 he exhibited his photographic work in the fashion Seminar for the Channel Isabel II, Madrid. He was moreover awarded with a Post Graduate Scholarship in 2004 by the Art and Contemporary Authors Foundation, in Madrid, where he moved. In 2005 he was awarded with the Realism AEGON INVERSION scholarship. During 2006-07 he worked as teaching assistant with Guillermo Muñoz Vera in Madrid. Later on, in 2008 he moved to Florence where he graduated from the Florence Academy of Art in 2012 where he continues to work. Basilio continues to work and perfect his craft through different endeavors. For example, in 2013, he participated a workshop with Steven Assael in Florence, Italy. In the present he is developing a photography project on woman portrait, and finishing a series of paintings for his next exhibition.
